Health is something you optimize… not something you chase only when it breaks down.

Updated: May 8

Hello Wellness Warriors,

I take care of many former professional and collegiate athletes—and I truly enjoy it. Athletes understand something most people don’t:

Health is something you optimize… not something you chase only when it breaks down.

While working with a former All-American basketball player, he said to me:"Doc, I’m here to optimize my health. Let’s see what you find, clear it, and get my body functioning at its best."

That mindset is everything.

Athletes understand that health is a dynamic, ongoing process —not something static. They may come in with an unexplained symptom or challenge, but quickly realize:

This work is not just about fixing symptoms. It’s about getting the entire body's organs, glands, and systems functioning optimally over time.

And when function improves…Symptoms naturally begin to disappear.

One former professional basketball player came in with chronic, unexplained symptoms—severe premenstrual and menstrual cramping, along with excessive bleeding.

She had seen multiple doctors and tried several medications, with minimal results.

We took a different approach.

We did a deep dive into her physiology using computerized functional testing and applied kinesiology to identify the underlying imbalances.

From there, we:

  • Introduced targeted, whole food-based supplements

  • Removed specific foods that were creating stress in her system

  • Added therapeutic, supportive foods

  • And implemented computer-assisted acupuncture

Within 6 months, about 95% of her symptoms were resolved. Her overall body function improved significantly, and we continued building from there.

Now, 2 years later, she comes in every 6 weeks for ongoing optimal wellness care.

Her words:"I’ve never felt better."

And as an athlete, she understands the value of maintaining that level of function—so she’s referred friends and family who are now on the same path.

We have been given an incredibly intelligent, self-regulating body. But many imbalances exist below the surface, long before they show up as symptoms.

Taking a deeper look at how your body is actually functioning—and making personalized, targeted corrections —is simply a smarter approach to long-term health.

If you're serious about your health, wellness, and longevity, it may be time to have someone on your team who looks at the body this way.
