A Holistic Approach to Hormonal Health

Good Sunday, Wellness Warriors,

For those of you new to my blog, I use the salutation “Wellness Warrior” because that is what it takes to be truly well these days. From what I see on a daily basis in my practice, we need to be extra vigilant and take the time, thought, and energy to enhance our well-being on a daily basis.

Food choices, exercise, sleep, mindset, and being under the care of a holistic doctor are essential to identify your blind spots regarding your health. This helps effectively address and correct unseen functional imbalances with the right approach specifically tailored for you.

Recently, several women have mentioned they are on HRT (hormone replacement therapy). Usually, this consists of some combination of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and maybe DHEA or other sex hormones. Not to mention all the people on thyroid hormones for years or even decades.

When I place patients on supplements based on computerized testing, they have a balancing and optimizing effect on the hormones. In other words, the supplements balance the whole body so it can manufacture all the hormones in the right amounts at the right time. It is a dynamic, ever-changing process involving progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, DHEA, thyroid, HGH, melatonin, etc. Who better to manufacture your hormones than your own body? It just needs the right supplements and to be in a deeply balanced and coherent state.

If you are on HRT, this treatment is not a replacement. It can work as a support.

The super-intelligent body makes thousands of chemicals every minute of every day in the exact correct quantity. Along with that, the body is constantly changing and adjusting to daily activities. Hormonal balance is a constantly moving target. The body needs the right nutritional support to balance itself so it can manufacture its own hormones in the exact right dosage at the right time.

If someone is low in, say, thyroid hormone, progesterone, or estrogen, there is usually a reason. There may be deep-seated heavy metals, chemicals, or an immune issue combined with organ and gland functional imbalances causing these hormonal deficiencies or imbalances. It takes work to uncover and address these issues. It is well worth the effort. By combining computerized ZYTO testing and applied kinesiology (or biofeedback from the body), we can find the root cause(s) and address them in a direct, body-friendly, and effective manner.

I had a patient who was experiencing severe hot flashes 24/7 for several months. She went to the gynecologist and a few other doctors. She was on HRT with no relief.

I put her on the computerized blood work approach, meaning she had a comprehensive blood test, and a computer read the results to select the whole food supplements that balance the blood work and her body. I adjusted the supplements and dosage a bit.

It took two rounds of blood work and supplements (6 months), and then she had zero hot flashes and was feeling great. She decided on her own to go off the HRT meds. Now, she comes in quarterly to be tested on the ZYTO computerized testing and placed on the exact right supplements that balance her whole body. She aims for whole-body optimal wellness and is doing amazing.

The incredible, intelligent, self-healing, and self-regenerating body knows best. Just supply it with what truly balances all the organs and glands, and the body heals itself. It just needs time, usually months, depending on the severity and chronicity. We often don’t give our bodies the recognition they deserve, serving us for decades on a 24/7 basis. Periodic, whole-body check-ups to balance and optimize the body is a great idea.

If you have not been evaluated in a year or more, maybe it is time, even if you are asymptomatic. Especially if you are asymptomatic so you can stay "ahead" of the curve.

Your body is either moving toward whole-body wellness or not. Considering the cost of traditional medical care and its side effects, the choice is clear.

Take the time and make the effort to get your body moving toward optimal, whole-body wellness.
